This page explains what personal information Fairways North collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who runs this site
Fairways North is an independent golf review site based in County Durham. Questions about your personal information can be sent to enquiries@fairwaysnorth.co.uk. It is hosted on WordPress.com, which is operated by Automattic.
What is collected
Comments. When you leave a comment, the name, email address and comment you enter are stored, along with your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. Your email address is never published. Comments are checked by Akismet, an automated spam filtering service.
The contact form. Messages sent through the contact form, with the name and email address you give, are stored on the site and sent to me by email so that I can reply.
Email updates. If you sign up for new reviews by email, your email address is held by WordPress.com to send them. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe.
Statistics. The site uses WordPress.com’s built-in statistics to count visits and see which reviews are read. They are not used to identify individual visitors.
Cookies. If you leave a comment you can choose to save your name and email in a cookie so that you do not have to type them again. WordPress.com may set other cookies needed to run the site, described in the Automattic cookie policy.
How long it is kept
Comments are kept for as long as they are published. Contact messages are kept for as long as they are needed to deal with them. You can unsubscribe from email updates at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, by sending a request through the contact page. This does not cover data that must be kept for legal or security reasons.
